When it comes to weapons, only an Archangel Blade (provided it is wielded by an Archangel) has been confirmed to be able to kill them. Trivia
- In Appointment In Samarra, Death claimed that the soul can be damaged but not broken, not even by him, despite the fact that he was nearly equal in power to God, who created souls. Many fans took that as him meaning that souls are essentially indestructible. However, in the same conversation, Death also called the soul vulnerable and impermanent, suggesting the opposite. Moreover, it was later revealed that souls can in fact be split in two through powerful magic.
- It is more likely that Death meant that the soul can't be broken into pieces without repercussions, as the soul splitting spell had the effect of actually seperating the person into versions of themselves, each one only retaining one of two opposite aspects of the original person (good/bad etc.).
